Township (Working Title)
Greetings, traveller, and welcome to Township, the lovely little medieval settlement in the woods which boasts all the luxuries you could ask for! It’s got turnips, radishes, cabbages, hot water in which to eat the aforementioned vegetables, a dedicated poopsmith, seven thousand square metres of ripe fields, not at all infested by killer wasps and of course… an escaped killer canary on the hunt for Townshippean blood!
Township is a crafting and exploration game which starts out humble enough, but allows players to reach new heights as they create fully working medieval industries and grows a town completely from scratch.
- Turn a down-on-their-luck protagonist into the King of their world, one invention at a time
- Order your citizens around and pay them in turnips!
- For those who like their iOS games with a little depth – an easy-to-use interface but hours of hidden gameplay within.
- We all know it can be hard to be an environmentalist all the time – use Township as a stress release, ruining trees with reckless aplomb.
That’s all on Township for now – we’re working hard on an early 2013 release date. In the mean time, here’s the press release announcing Flat Earth and our partnership with Epiphany Games (the great minds behind Frozen Hearth)…
Flat Earth Games launches to bring back the 90s, partners with Epiphany Games on first title
Sydney, Australia, 16 May – Flat Earth Games announces that its first project, an iOS and PC exploration and crafting game, is being developed in conjunction with Epiphany Games, developers of PC real-time strategy title Frozen Hearth.
Based in Sydney, Flat Earth Games is a new developer aimed squarely at creating games which hark back to the golden age of the 90s, and blending those experiences of exploration and creation with modern functionality and accessibility. Flat Earth is founded by brothers Rohan and Leigh Harris, who have both been heavily involved in games media and publishing for a combined 14 years.
“We grew up on games like Civilization, Transport Tycoon and Lightspeed,” says Rohan Harris, co-founder. “These things have always held a special place in our hearts and we’ve been hard at work on resurrecting the core concepts which drive them to share the things we love with a new generation.”
“We loved Rohan and Leigh’s idea for their first game,” said Morgan Lean, CEO of Epiphany. “Once we heard the concept, we knew we had to get involved, so we’ll be providing Flat Earth Games with the expertise and time of our veteran iOS developers in-house and making sure the title is as great as it can be.”
“We’re immensely and disturbingly excited to be partnering with Epiphany,” added Leigh Harris, co-founder. “We’ve built our entire team from scratch, and simply couldn’t have done it without their commitment to the project.”
Flat Earth Games’ first title will be announced very soon, and is slated for release on iPhone, iPad and PC late in 2012.
